Provision of Insurance Services
The African Academy of Sciences (The AAS) is a non-aligned, non-political, not-for-profit pan African organisation. The AAS’s vision is to see transformed lives on the African continent through science. Our tripartite mandate is recognising excellence through the AAS’ highly prestigious fellowship, Affiliates and award schemes, providing advisory and think tank functions for shaping Africa’s Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) strategies and policies and implementing key Science, Technology and Innovation programmes addressing Africa’s developmental challenges.

The AAS is in the process of procuring Medical, Group Personal Accident (GPA)/WIBA/Group Personal Life (GPL) and General Insurance Services providers for the financial year 2019/2020. This Request for Proposal (RFP) from qualified firms should be elaborated as per the instruction provided in the subsequent sections of this TOR
The objective of this assignment is to select a highly and competent and qualified insurance companies/brokerage firms to support in the review of AAS insurance needs for staff and assets.
All correspondence and documents relating to the RFP exchanged by the bidders and The AAS shall be written in English language.
The AAS employees and their relative (spouse and children) are not eligible to participate in the RFP process.
Submission and Deadline of RFP Document
A copy of application for RFP document containing all the requirements shall be submitted in plain sealed envelopes clearly marked with the Insurance type as below:
a) Medical Insurance AAS/09/001
b) GPA/WIBA AAS/09/002
c) GPL AAS/09/003
d) General Insurance AAS/09/004
The downloaded RFP document should be duly completed as per the instructions and dropped at The AAS offices in Karen, Miotoni lane off Miotoni RD, house number 8
